The renewable energy sector has paid for its success with radical changes to regulations and incentives available. The sharp rise in photovoltaic panel installation exceeded all expectations and forced the government to rethink its strategy. The fact remains that European 2020 green growth objectives are both very ambitious and legally binding, which means that a very smart strategy will be needed to achieve them.

Il comparto delle rinnovabili ha registrato nel 2011 uno straordinario successo, con 84 miliardi di kWh generati, un incremento del 9% sull´anno precedente. Il fotovoltaico, in particolare, ha guidato questa crescita e quest´anno riuscirà a soddisfare oltre il 6% della domanda elettrica complessiva. La nuova normativa che definisce gli obiettivi verdi per le Regioni al 2020 e i nuovi incentivi per la cogenerazione, il biogas, le biomasse e l´eolico in via di definizione consentiranno agli operatori di programmare gli interventi per i prossimi anni.
